The 1st stage of the Italian Championship ended in Albissola

The couples Andrea Abbiati (MVP) – Tiziano Andreatta and Michela Lantignotti (MVP) – Francesca Michieletto won the top step after two thrilling finals.

In front of crowded stands and the great enthusiasm of the Ligurian public, three days of beach volleyball with a very high technical profile were staged with extraordinary exchanges and recoveries. The timeless performance of Davide Dal Molin, 44 years old, able to impose himself on the new generation of beach volleyball together with a Matteo Ingrosso in great shape. Excellent second place for them after a very intense 0-2 (19-21, 22-24) where Andrea Abbiati and Tiziano Andreatta were able to maintain their great tradition of success in Albissola competitions. Tiziano Andreatta’s walls were decisive both in the semifinals and in the final. Instead, dragged by the local cheering, a surprise result for the home favorite Nicolò Siccardi in pairs Sergio Seregni who get the third step of the podium starting from the qualifications and overturning all predictions against Alfieri – Sacripanti with a pyrotechnic 2-1 (18-21, 21- 17.18-20).

In women, a great show of strength by the duo Sara Bredeinbach and Giada Benazzi is not enough, who surrender to Michela Lantignotti and Francesca Michieletto only in the third set (14-21, 21-19,15-13). Started as seeded number 8 also the bronze medal obtained with a dry 2-0 (21-15, 21-10) by Federica Frasca and Alice Gradini capable of quickly winning over Sofia Arcani and Chiara They.

Before the very finals first second place, the performance of the Eunike special olympics team, returning from second place at the national games just held in Turin, should be noted.
