Tapia, ascent without limits: "Sanyo and I are the couple to beat"

At what age did you start playing padel?

“When I was 9 I did my first tournament with my grandfather.”

What do you love about padel?

«I like it because it’s a sport that draws you along. It also gave me a lot and allowed me to meet people and travel the world ».

When did you turn pro?

“I made my debut in Argentina in 2016 and then I moved to Spain”.

How important was it for your professional growth to play first with Juan Martin Diaz and then with Fernando Belasteguin?

“It was a privilege to play with two who made the history of this sport, it helped me a lot to grow and learn both on and off the pitch.”

«Without doubt the final of the 2020 Master in Menorca».

Of all the companions you have had, can you tell us what struck you most about each of them?

«Juan Martin’s way of playing and his strokes; Bela’s way of thinking; from Pablo Lima his determination and now with Sanyo, well … it’s incredible to have him close ».

What if you had to train a couple?

“Well, I don’t know, at the moment I don’t see myself as a coach.”

A balance of last season?

“We could have done more in 2021 and without having to change team mates, but at the end with the master I recovered the season in a very complicated year for me”.

Favorite shot and where to improve?

«The smash and the forehand volley. While I have to perfect both the forehand and the backhand from the baseline ».

Which racket do you play with and what do you like?

«I play with the NOX AT10 Luxury Genius. I love its shape, color, painting and sandblasting which helps me a lot with the smash ».

Your favorite hobby?

“Playing the PlayStation”.

How is your relationship with Italy?

“I have a special affection for your country which is making great strides and I am very grateful to the Italian fans who send me so many messages of encouragement”.
