Pallacanestro Olimpia Milano announces that it has reached an agreement with Kyle Hines to extend his contract. Arriving in the summer of 2020 in two years in Milan, Hines won a Scudetto, a Supercoppa, two Italian Cups and helped the team reach the EuroLeague Final Four of 2021. “We are thrilled that Kyle has decided to extend his legendary career and to have chosen to do it again in Milan. Kyle Hines, born in Sicklerville on September 2, 1986, 1.98, center winger, arrived at Olimpia in the summer of 2020 from CSKA Moscow. He has been named EuroLeague Defender of the Year three times, including this season. In the same competition, which he has won four times, he is first ever for offensive rebounds and two-point baskets, second for blocks. He also exceeded the 3,000 points scored. Hines played a year at Camden Catholic High School, New Jersey and then over the next three years at Timber Creek Regional High School. In his senior year, he was included in the All-State Second Quintet and became the school’s first ever scorer. In 2004 he landed in North Carolina-Greensboro, where in 2005 he was named Southern Conference Freshman of the Year and as a junior he was voted Southern Conference Player of the Year (20.9 points, 9.0 rebounds per game). As a senior he scored 19.2 points with 9.1 rebounds per game. For the past three years of college he has always been Southern’s first five.
His professional career began in Italy in Veroli where he won the Italian Cup of Legadue for two consecutive years (16.9 points and 8.6 rebounds on average in the first year, 18.5 points and 8.1 rebounds in the second. In 2010 he landed in Bamberg where he won Super Cup, German Cup and championship and was the playoff MVP (12.9 points and 5.4 rebounds on average in EuroLeague). In 2011 he arrived at Olympiacos Piraeus where in two years he won the EuroLeague twice and the Greek title in the 2012. In the first year he scored 9.9 points with 4.5 rebounds on average, in the second 9.4 points and 6.0 rebounds. In 2013 he joined CSKA Moscow where he won the EuroLeague two more times, in 2016 and 2019, as well as winning six VTB League titles He was included in the EuroLeague Ideal Team of the Decade.
