La NBPA presenta One Court Milan

The National Basketball Players Association (NBPA) – the “rib” of the NBA players union, committed to enhancing and promoting the concrete work they carry out around the world to strengthen their communities and create meaningful social change – today presented the launch of One Court Milan, a project created to give NBA players the opportunity to network and learn valuable lessons from the executives of famous international brands.

The experience was designed in collaboration with the SDA Bocconi School of Management, which will help players apply the concepts learned in this program to develop their personal branding.

One Court Milan represents the continuation of the NBPA’s commitment to assist and support players to recognize their influence on the international stage. From 2017 to 2019, NBPA’s International Business Academy (IBA) offered classroom lectures and field activities to help players better understand the different facets of international business and marketing.

In addition to the activities of One Court Milan, the NBPA Foundation will also organize its third appointment of More Than a Gamethe youth program that explores the connection between basketball and the social.
Through this program, the NBPA Foundation will involve some NBA players and 20 young athletes from the TamTam Basketball Academy, a team based in Castel Volturno that offers boys and girls born in Italy to immigrant parents the opportunity to participate in totally free sports.

Among other things, Tam Tam organizes youth basketball tournaments all over Italy, with the aim of eliminating the barriers that hinder youth sport, unite the community more and provide tools for the mental health of the youngest.

Thanks to the experience of More Than a Gamethese young people will have the unique opportunity to discover the link between basketball, culture and identity, and to analyze the tools that will allow them to be promoters of concrete changes in their communities.

“Given their visibility and the increasing influence they have, we want to make sure that our athletes have all the tools they need to capitalize on the global opportunities they are offered” commented Matteo Zuretti, NBPA Chief of International Relations and Marketing. “Before the coronavirus pandemic, we were experiencing a moment of great enthusiasm and growth at the International Business Academy, which is why we are so excited to be reunited with One Court Milan this year. What this program has to offer our players is truly a priceless experience. “

“Over the years, NBA players have shown themselves to be actors of significant changes in their communities” added Lyzz Ogunwo, Executive Director of the NBPA Foundation. “Having a platform like One Court Milano that also integrates a youth program together with the TamTam Basketball Academy is a great way to support our next generation of ‘changemakers’, as well as amplify the efforts of current players, making them leaders on a global scale. “
