PORTO VIRO (ROVIGO) – He knows how to do everything and he knows how to do it well, indeed, very well. A reinforcement of quantity and quality for Delta Group Porto Viro, which ensures the performance of Marco Pierotti, one of the most complete four-seaters in the entire panorama of Serie A2 Credem Banca.
Born in 1996, 193 centimeters tall, Pierotti has been at Agnelli Tipiesse Bergamo for two years of very high profile, with whom he dominated the last two regular seasons of A2, also winning an Italian Cup (in 2021, precisely in the final with Porto Viro) and two Italian Super Cups. In the last season he succeeded in the curious (and very difficult) feat of writing his name in the top 20 of the championship in four different “specialties”: points, winning attacks, aces and perfect receptions.
Raised in volleyball in his hometown team, Virtus Fano, Pierotti arrived in A2 in 2015, at just 19 years old, when he received a call from another club from the Marche region, Volley Potentino. In 2016/2017 he moved for the first time to Bergamo, where he stayed for two seasons. In the summer of 2018 he triumphs with the National B at the Mediterranean Games before making the big leap in the Super League among the ranks of Modena, then coached by Julio Velasco. In 2019 he crowns another blue dream by winning the Universiade, then moves on to Vibo Valentia, always in A1. The following year he returns to Bergamo, where he meets his mentor Gianluca Graziosi, who had already coached him in Potenza Picena and in the national team, as well as in his first experience in Bergamo.
THE WORDS OF MARCO PIEROTTI-
” I am very happy to be wearing these colors next season. I have known the reality of Porto Viro in the last two years and it immediately seemed to me a healthy company and with a great desire to emerge. The choice of the coach and the prospect of a quality squad did the rest to convince me to sign. The goal is first of all to create a nice group where you can work well and have fun, I am convinced that the rest comes by itself, trying to improve every day in the gym. In which fundamental can I still grow? Definitely on the beat, I want to find more continuity ».
But which space will the Delta Group occupy in the starting grid of the next A2?
«It is difficult to unbalance at the moment, especially considering that the level of the championship is rising from year to year – continues Pierotti –. However, I believe that this team has the skills to do very well, we just have to focus on the game which is what makes the difference between winning and losing.. I can’t wait to get started, to get to know the club, the team-mates and the fans. I hope they will come to the sports hall in large numbers, we will have fun together “.
