Isabelle Haak takes Egonu's place in Conegliano


Born in 1999 to a French father and Scandinavian mother in Sweden in Lund, she will turn 23 on 11 July, she is 194 centimeters tall, Isabelle “Bella” Haak plays opposite. She has a three-year-old sister, Anna, who plays in France and the Swedish national team.
She grows up in the Swedish formation of Engelholms, making her debut as a very precocious talent in the first team: after a couple of reserve championships, in the 2014-15 vintage she enters the basic sextet steadily, winning the national title and the MVP award as a player at the end of the season of the year and best rookie, making an encore the following season.
In the 2016-17 vintage, she went seventeen to the French Ligue A team at Béziers where, despite not winning the title, she was named MVP and best opponent of the tournament; in the notebook of all international scouts, “Bella” Haak in the following season she moves to Italy where she plays two Serie A1 championships with the Scandicci shirt, becoming familiar with great volleyball in the championship and in the Champions League.

In 2019-20 the great leap to the court of the battleship Vakifbank Istanbul which entrusts it with the role of designated “bomber”. With the Istanbul team, she won two league titles, two Turkish Cups, the 2021 National Super Cup, the 2021 World Club Championship (where she was awarded as the MVP of the tournament) and the CEV Champions League 2021-22, the latter two trophies in their own final against his new team.

On 10 May 2014, she made her senior international debut in a qualifying match for the 2015 European championship against Latvia: at the age of 15, she was the youngest Swedish volleyball player ever to wear the senior selection jersey. She wins the European Silver League 2018 with her own national team.


Isabelle, are you going back to Italy with Conegliano, your comment on this choice?

«I am thrilled to join Conegliano and to return to Italy this season after the great experience in Turkey. I think that after a few years it is good for me to change my environment and face new challenges like the one that was proposed to me. Conegliano is a great place for this! “.

You will play with the Prosecco DOC Imoco Volley after 3 years of fought battles, are you ready?

«The matches against Conegliano have always been very beautiful and spectacular, now I’m curious to see them and experience them on the other side! I’m ready for a new challenge and to play many other great matches with my new jersey ».

In recent years you have often played important matches against the Panthers, as you have seen the yellow and blue club on the other side of the net?

«Many challenges, many hard fought finals. She has always been a super aggressive opponent, strong and complete, with a fast play system and many options. It has never been easy to face them because their game is very varied and difficult to counter ».

Do you know the game of coach Santarelli and the setter Wolosz, how do you think you can fit into the new team with your technical characteristics?

«I hope mine is a great entry, I have the feeling that my characteristics are well suited to their system! Conegliano likes fast play and I love fast balls, plus many different combinations are proposed, which I really like, it will be interesting to get involved in this game ».

Do you already know personally any of your new Prosecco DOC Imoco teammates?

«I have faced the team a few times and I know the players as opponents, but none very well. I am thrilled to be able to meet so many good athletes and build new relationships! “.

Your personal and team expectations for the next year …

«We haven’t talked about expectations as a team yet, but if I know Conegliano well I know that the club likes to win… there is a great tradition of winning in recent years, so I think the objectives and expectations are quite clear! Even if we are a fairly new team, I am sure the goals will remain the same. My personal expectations are to continue growing as much as possible and to bring with me what I have learned in recent years and put them into practice in my return to the Italian championship, a top-level tournament that becomes more and more competitive every year ».

There will be many goals for a club used to going all the way in all competitions.

«We expect a stimulating season on many fronts, Italian and international, but in recent years I am used to it. I think all these competitions will be tough as ever, with so many strong and challenging opponents, I can’t wait to face them! “.

What are your plans for this summer?

«My plans are first of all to play the Silver League with my national team, Sweden. We are a team that wants to grow and a construction process is currently underway with a view to the future, I am happy to be part of it. Later after a long season I will also have some free time to spend time with my family and recharge for the new season ».

«I am more than enthusiastic to be able to experience the Palaverde atmosphere, it will be a lot of fun to be part of it! I hope we will have a lot of fun together, see you soon! “.
