Intel Join the Indie 2022: independent video games in Italy show off

It is not often that you find the excellence of Italian independent gaming under one roof. Yet Intel has succeeded in the enterprise by bringing journalists together with many development studios (established and emerging) from the Italian scene to let us tell what they are working on. Before introducing them, however, Intel explained a couple of new technologies it has in the pipeline: “We are working on software that, if your computer can’t get a game to run, search the net for another connected machine capable of running it and stream the gameplay to your pc. A sort of hybrid between cloud and performance gaming. Regarding the chip shortage, we doubled the production capacity of existing factories and opened the foundry service to make other people’s chips. In addition, we have accelerated the procurement process of raw materials “.

It’s a Virtual Reality Tennis video game meant to be a simulator. Suitable for beginners and professionals Tennis League VR has been designed to give back to those who play tennis as a hobby or semi professionally a “something they can live at home.” The game was created in collaboration with tennis instructors and sports professionals to recreate in virtual reality almost all the sensations you feel in the field. Published on Sidequest – where the demos for the Meta Quest viewer are tested, it is going well with 46 thousand total users of which 5000 are active users. A very interesting peculiarity is that (also in sports optics) multiplayer supports the presence of spectators on the sidelines enjoying the match in VR. Tennis League VR is out this fall.

There are many card games, but I assure you that as fun as Temperia there are very few. Here, cards are played face up in a 3×3 grid, turns last 1 minute and each player can play one card per turn. Developed in collaboration with the streamer, Moonryde is out on June 20 and is only the first step of an entire narrative planet. There are books being written and each card is a window on the lore of the Temperia universe, born thanks to the author’s years of experience as a DnD master. It will be released first on PC and then on mobile all over the world thanks to the publisher Leonardo Intercative.

The authors of “intense stories” like the Remothered series are ready to launch their new flagship title: BATORA lost haven. In this multi-branching story a 16-year-old girl receives the powers of the sun and the moon and is in charge of find out what caused a ferocious cataclysm on earth. To do this he will have to explore 4 distant planets and make choices that will greatly influence the end of the game. The fighting style is a mixed between twin stick shooter and hack and slash thanks to the dualism of the powers that the protagonist has received. The buildcrafing, then, is influenced by the narrative choices with a profile as a conqueror (the end justifies the means) and one as a defender (agent of the common good) to choose from. The narrative choices, then, “will always be gray, there will be no path as good or bad”. Switching from one mode to another is the heart of the game loop with the enemies (and especially the bosses) that will force the player to be very creative in his choices.

Assetto Corsa 2 is in development at Kunos Simulations

It’s official, Kunos Simulations is working on Assetto Corsa 2. It will be a long-term project because the goal is to create a constantly evolving platform, so there will never be an Assetto Corsa 3. The team has abandoned Unreal Engine, powerful but limiting, because it is doing something completely new that needs its architecture, its routines and a completely customizable system.
