Double announcement for UYBA: Stigrot and Omoruyi

Lena Stigrot-Born in Bad Tölz, she has just returned from her first season in Italy, played with the Roma shirt: her excellent numbers, which place her among the very first top scorers of the role with 274 points in 98 sets played, 40.2% offensive, 15 walls, 29.3% of perfect receptions. Not only that: Lena’s Italian debut highlighted strong character skills, with grit and aggression on the pitch that immediately struck the red and white club.

Before arriving in Rome, Lena Stigrot played in Germany with Vilsbiburg with whom she made her debut in the German top flight in 2011-12 and with which she won the 2013-14 German Cup. In 2018-19 she moved to Dresdner, with whom she won the 2019-20 German Cup. You are currently engaged with the German national team in the VNL.

Loveth Omoruyi – The 2002-born spiker, fresh champion of Italy with the Imoco Conegliano jersey, is ready for her new adventure in the red and white jersey: at the e-work arena the talented athlete, originally from Lodi, will be able to take the spaces that deserves and to show its undoubted technical and physical qualities. 184cm tall, great jumping skills, Loveth has gained over the years the esteem not only of the public, but also of the technicians who have seen in her great potential, as evidenced also by the recent call-up in the senior national team for the dispute of the Mediterranean Games. In the last season in Conegliano she managed, despite the stars of the starting roster, to gain some space, always proving to be ready for the calls of coach Santarelli: for her 113 points in 45 sets (many of which only played at times), 45% offensive , 18 walls, 33% of perfect receptions. In short, Loveth Omoruyi is a talent just waiting to explode and Busto Arsizio is the right place to hit the target.
With the arrival of Omoruyi, the players of the squad born after 2000 rise to 5, confirming the green line undertaken by the Bustocca club for some seasons now: Loveth will be company, in this sense, to the already confirmed Monza, Bressan, Colombo and Battista.
Career: Loveth starts in the Pro Patria Milano, in the 2016-17 season, in Serie B2. In the following year he joined the Club Italia team, with which he played, in the first season, the Serie A2, then the Serie A1 in the 2018-19 season, and finally again the junior series in the 2019-20 one.
For the 2020-21 championship she was signed by Imoco, winning two Italian Super Cups, two Italian Cups, two Scudetti and the 2020-21 Champions League.
In 2017 she was called up in the Italian Under-16 national team with which she won the gold medal at the European championship. The following year she is both her in the Under-17, winning silver at the European championship, and in the Under-19, with which she gets gold at the European championship. In 2019 she is called up to the Under-20 and Under-18 national team, winning silver at both the Under-20 and Under-18 world championships. In 2021, still with the Under-20 national team, she becomes world champion. In 2021 you get the first call-ups in the senior national team.

“It will be my second season in Italy and I have a great desire to start: it’s true that in Rome I had the opportunity to play and show off, but the team’s result was not satisfactory and this was a real shame. . I therefore have a desire for revenge, to obtain good team results with the new UYBA. The season in Rome made me understand that the level of the Italian championship is very high, but very stimulating: in Busto Arsizio I want to confirm myself and improve my volleyball even more ».

I believe that this year UYBA has made a super market, managing to bring to Busto Arsizio players with great experience and young people with excellent prospects. I am sure that we can have a good championship and that we will carry the name of the team as it deserves. Being part of the Conegliano group represented a unique experience for me: they were my first seasons in Serie A, hard to forget. The players I played with are part of the history of this sport: I would like to mention Kimberly Hill, who also having the same role as me was a fundamental point of reference for me. I think I did a good job at Imoco, growing up as a volleyball player but also on a character level: now I’m more confident and aware of what I can do. I’m training with the national team, a busy summer awaits us with the Mediterranean games starting on 25 June: I can’t wait. I also played a lot with the youth national team, winning a lot: if I had to choose the best success I would say last year’s World Cup. At UYBA I will be one of the youngest girls, but not the youngest and this brings me a little more responsibility; I played with Sofia Monza in the national team and one year at Club Italia: she is a great friend and I am pleased to find her again. In Busto Arsizio I hope to play a lot because I lack continuity on the pitch and I would like to grow even more in order to become a stable player on the pitch ».
