SOLD OUT – This year too, the event was titled by the prestigious BMW Ceccato Motors brand has reached the goal of sold out (3,400 enrolled in the half marathon and 2,200 in the 10K) for several days, but at the news even more interesting is the presence of athletes from 32 foreign countries.
Happy with the extraordinary result obtained in this first real post-pandemic edition is the president Piero Rosa Salva: “Jesolo Moolight is finally back in its traditional guise, after last year’s edition of the restart which still included many restrictions. We are very satisfied with the numbers achieved, which confirm the promotional validity of our event. Never before have we felt the support of institutions, sponsors and partners like this year. I address sincere thanks to the Municipal Administration and in particular to the mayor Valerio Zoggia and the councilor Esterina Idra who at this moment are “in election silence” but who have supported us in all the organizational phases together with Jesolo Turismo and, finally, I quote a beautiful letter received from the Governor of Veneto Luca Zaia who used very flattering words about the event. This shows how much the Moonlight has become a Heritage of our territory “.
“The sold out of registrations was not an easy and obvious goal after these difficult years, but it was still our goal and having achieved it fills us with great satisfaction – comments Lorenzo Cortesi – An extraordinary result which, combined with the number of foreign visitors, confirms the effectiveness of the sport-tourism combination and we are sure that the event will generate an important economic impact on the territory “.
EYOB FANIEL – The half marathon will see one of the strongest Italian and international distance specialists at the start: Eyob Faniel, the blue athlete of Eritrean origins grew up in the Venicemarathon nursery before moving to the Fiamme Oro Sports Group. In Jesolo, in 2015 Faniel won one of his first half marathons in his career in 2015 and in 2018 he also won the 10K. “I will arrive in Jesolo directly from Kenya where I spent a long period of very profitable training, apart from the fact of having contracted Covid, fortunately without major consequences. I always participate very willingly in the events organized by Venicemarathon because they were the first to believe in me and allow me to be a full-time athlete when I was still working and the results obtained are also thanks to Venicemarathon. In Jesolo I will test my post-height preparation. I can not wait to be there.” – so Eyob in video link.
For the record, Faniel is today Italian marathon record holder (2H07’19 “Seville 2020), he has a personal half marathon of 1h00’07 ”(Siena -2021) and last year he was third in the New York Marathon.
“We are happy that Eyob has accepted our invitation – commented Stefano Fornasier – we have set up an interesting race from a chronometric point of view, which should end around the hour, and very hard fought with various African athletes, Ethiopia, Kenya and Morocco, both in the male and female fields “.
ROUTE – The departure of the Jesolo BMW Moonlight 10K is scheduled for 7 pm from via Denmark and via the BMW Jesolo Moonlight Half Marahon at 7.45 pm always from the same location.
The spectacular and fast route of the half marathon has been confirmed which will offer an alternation of different naturalistic aspects such as the river, the pine forest, the promenade and the beach, combined with the romantic colors of the sunset and the charm of the sea, while the 10K route was instead redesigned, to improve both the spectacle and the viability, and consequently also remeasured.
