Grove City Wins Central District Gymnastic Meet

 
For the first time in the meet’s 39-year history, Grove City High School was awarded the district team champion title. Dublin Coffman was runner up and Thomas Worthington placed third. Thirty schools were represented at the Central District Gymnastics Championships on Saturday February 25. Two schools from the East, three schools for the Southeast and two schools from the Southwest districts were included in the competition. The top three teams advance to the State Gymnastics Tournament.   The top 9 individual gymnasts in each event and all around also advance. Champions for each event are as follows: Vault- Colleen Mc Hugh (Olentangy), Bars- Erin Maynard (Grove City), Beam-, Jackie Hayes (Olentangy Liberty), Floor- Katie Vance (DeSales), All-around: Erin Maynard (Grove City). The State Gymnastics Tournament will be held on March 2 and 3 at Hilliard Bradley.
